What We Do

Advocacy

We go to schools to carry out advocacy programs educating boys and girls on why the must speak out if anyone is going through such a traumatic experience. The House of Fatima also educates them on the need to stay away from drugs.

The House of Fatima embarks on a journey to try and restore the thought process of some of these boys and girls by reminding them of doing the right thing.  We have discovered that when the boy and the girl child gets abused, oftentimes, their thought processes are being destroyed. They begin to feel it’s okay to remain silent and let things be the way they are because they have accepted it as a norm of society.

So during our advocacy campaigns, we try to identify some of these girls with damage thought processes through their interaction with us. This can only be possible when they hear about House of Fatima’s story and how she was able to pull through as the team also ensures they develop trust with these girls enough to enable them to share their story.

Rescue Mission

Most time the people who molest and abuse young boys and girls hold them captive. They do these using different means. It could be through threats or economic means. When we hear such we move in for a rescue.

Our rescue mission team beams their searchlight, in search of cases pertaining to boy and girl child molestation and as soon as they find one, the team quickly move in for a rescue to save the child before any major damage is done.

Often times, this is done in line with our advocacy campaign. When we go for campaigns we begin to identify the girls that need immediate rescue from their captors. No matter what it may cost, we move in to rescue.

Girl Child Empowerment

After advocating and rescuing the boys and girls, it becomes important to empower them with relevant skills that can make them earn a decent living and hold their head high in society. We take the pain to take them through the process of empowering them to be able to earn a decent living for themselves.

We teach them skills for those who need that as an immediate intervention for survival.

The House of Fatima also trains boys and girls whose education was stopped and are willing to be empowered through formal education.

Rehabilitation & Integration

The damage done to some of the boys and girls is psychological and often deep. So it takes so much time to recover.

Knowing this, we take the time to help take them through rehabilitation so that they can come out of the traumatic experience of what they have gone through, and then through our empowerment scheme, we integrate them back into the society to live a normal life.
